Jimmy G. Mai Morillon Author

Jimmy G. Mai Morillon was born in Houston in 1984, the son of Mexican and Vietnamese immigrants. A graduate of Hastings High School of Alief, Texas, he went on to study literature and theater at the University of Houston – Downtown where he was also a writer for the university news paper and editor of the university’s literary magazine, The Bayou Review. After graduating he founded The Midnight Theatre Company where he produced and staged his original plays, Case Number 105 (2010) and The Brush (2011). While also teaching full time in Houston’s North Side community, he attended Sam Houston State University where he received his Master’s in Library Science. There he began his work in Ed Tech as a librarian in Spring Branch and later in the private sector where he continues today. His first book, By Starlight was published in 2025. Mai enjoys spending time with his family and dogs.
